About The Conan Project
Back in the mid 1990s, swords-and-sorcery fantasy TV was riding high on the wave created by Xena: The Warrior Princess and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. Sadly, these excellent (Well, relatively. This WAS TV, after all.) efforts spawned several imitators, perhaps the worst being Max Keller's bastardization of Robert E. Howard's Conan, Conan the Adventurer. While many fans of the Schwarzenegger Conan movies rejoiced, those who were familiar with Robert E. Howard's truly ground-breaking fiction dispaired. Those who were blessed enough to have missed this debacle will perhaps not understand just how truly bad it was. The writing was beyond attrocious, Ralf Moeller's acting was wooden at best and the production values made Gilligan's Island look like Lord of the Rings in comparison.
